Home made play dough
Want an activity to connect with your kids? I love this activity that can be a whole day activity or one that takes only a few minutes and the kids can play with while I finish up some chores. This dough can be kept in a sealed bag or box for a few days and if it starts getting sticky then add more flour!
OR you can bake it and then paint which is fun! It takes 1,5-3 hours to bake depending on how thick the dough is. Turn oven on 175degrees C (350 F) and bake for at least 1,5 hours. Let it cool for about 10 minutes and then paint.

EASY HOME MADE PLAY DOUGH
What you need to make play dough for 3:
- 600ml of boiling hot water
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 300gr fine salt
- Food coloring (optional)
- 300gr flour (+ around 100gr more once it’s all mixed together)
- A bowl, gloves (optional) and spatula
Instructions:
- Mix together water, oil and salt (also food coloring if you want to add color)
- Add flour in a few chunks at a time while stirring
- Finish on the table and add flour as needed so it’s not sticky (use gloves - its hot and sticky to begin with)
We’ve been doing this for the past 6 years and I used to do this as a kid so been in the family for over many many years. Got this particular recipe from an Icelandic website www.eldhus.is
